Sports drink maker Gatorade has ended its marketing deals with Tiger Woods, joining the list of sponsors to drop the superstar golfer in the wake of a sex scandal.
"We no longer see a role for Tiger in our marketing efforts and have ended our relationship," Gatorade spokeswoman Jennifer Schmit said. "We wish him all the best."
The spokeswoman for the sports drink, sold by PepsiCo, said Gatorade would continue its relationship with the Tiger Woods Foundation, the golfer's charitable organisation that focuses on offering educational opportunities to disadvantaged children.
Gatorade discontinued its Tiger Woods-brand drinks in November, a decision that was made before the star's marital infidelity sparked a media frenzy.
Daniel Radcliffe is explaining why he has just filmed a public service announcement for The Trevor Project, the leading organization focusing on suicide prevention efforts among gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered youth.
Because his parents were both actors, "I grew up knowing a lot of gay men and it was never something that I even thought twice about — that some men were gay and some weren't," the "Harry Potter" megastar said Friday. "And then I went to school and (for) the first time ... I came across homophobia. ... I had never encountered it before. It shocked me.
"I have always hated anybody who is not tolerant of gay men or lesbians or bisexuals," he added. "Now I am in the very fortunate position where I can actually help or do something about it."
Environmental activist, hemp promoter, peacenik, surfer dude. Woody Harrelson has been called a lot of things, but until recently it is unlikely he has been called a friend of the U.S. military.
The actor says he is a changed man, however, after working on his movie "The Messenger," in which he portrays an officer in the army's casualty notification service -- officers who tell families their loved ones have died serving their country.
Harrelson, 48, has been nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of Captain Tony Stone, though winning seems unlikely. Yet he believes he may already have won just by being nominated for his supporting role and by being able to tell the tale of soldiers and their families.
"It's a big thing to say, but I really think it changed me on some fundamental level in my heart," Harrelson told Reuters. "I felt a powerful connection to these servicemen and women, and those experiences of notifications."
Pamela Anderson sent a letter Saturday to Canada's prime minister requesting an end to the country's annual seal hunt.
The Canadian actress and spokeswoman for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals dropped the letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper in a mailbox in front of the Canadian Department of Fisheries and Oceans office.
Anderson called the hunt "an embarrassment to Canada" at a news conference, saying she made the appeal during the Winter Olympic Games here because "the whole world is watching Canada."
Canada's annual East Coast seal hunt from mid-November to mid-May, mostly in Newfoundland and Labrador and in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, is the largest in the world, killing an average of 275,000 harp seals.
Lady GaGa arrived for dinner on a night off from her tour wearing an even more outlandish outfit than her usual stage attire. Her devilish, horned headpiece had the effect of making her look as though she was wearing antlers. [via]
Hayden Panettiere’s latest movie, I Love You, Beth Cooper will be in theaters on July 10th and I have a feeling all the men won’t want to miss this one. Hayden has a nude scene and I can’t think of anyone who will want to miss it!

“I was really naked,” the 19-year-old starlet tells me. “I had these little sticky petals on my boobs, but that was about it. My dad calls me such an exhibitionist. He always says, ‘God, even when you were little, you were such an exhibitionist!’ “
Hayden isn’t ready for full frontal nudity for the cameras, yet.
“I’m cool with my body, and I’m cool running around undressed and all that stuff, but there are just certain things that not everyone needs to know, that you need to keep somehow private and personal to you,” she said. “But you never know, you never know. I could be 30 years old and just be like, ‘Screw it—I want to take it all off. I better take a picture of this baby before it all goes.’ “
I am glad she’s not giving it all up. I think she is keeping her class and that is a thing of great value. Way to go, Hayden!

Seth Green is ready to become a Family Guy.
The 36-year-old actor is now engaged to his longtime girlfriend, model-actress Clare Grant.
"Yeah, we did it!" Green told E! News at Wednesday night's Hollywood launch party for Tarina Tarantino's new cosmetics line.
Brittany Murphy's final autopsy report was released Thursday, the results of which confirmed that the actress did not abuse alcohol or drugs.
"There is no history of alcohol or drug abuse," the report stated, while also noting that at 115 pounds Murphy was "not excessively thin."
Earlier this month, the L.A. County coroner's office disclosed that Murphy died of pneumonia complicated by iron deficiency anemia and prescription drugs. Her death was ruled as accidental.
Tracey Gold, Alyssa Milano and William Shatner are among the celebrities expressing their sadness over the death of U.S. actor Andrew Koenig.
Koenig's body was found Thursday in Stanley Park in Vancouver, British Columbia. His family had alerted police because they had not heard from him in more than a week and were worried because he suffered from depression.
The former "Growing Pains" actor's father, Walter Koenig, told reporters Thursday his son had taken his own life, but did not disclose the cause of his death at the age of 41.
"Today is a sad day," Tracey Gold told UsMagazine.com in a statement Thursday. "My heart is broken for Andrew's family. I have such great memories of Andrew and our time together on 'Growing Pains.'"
E! News said Milano, Shatner, Sarah Silverman, Wil Wheaton and Candace Cameron took to Twitter to offer their condolences.
"My heart is heavy for the Koenig family," said Silverman, while Milano Tweeted, "RIP."
Shatner, who worked with Walter Koenig on "Star Trek," wrote: "My deepest sympathies to Andrew Koenig's family. I will grieve with them."
Wheaton, a former cast member of "Star Trek: The Next Generation," posted on his Twitter page a message that said: "Oh my god. I just heard that Andrew Koenig's body has been found in Vancouver. He was only 41. My heart goes out to his family."
"Heartbreaking. Our prayers go out 2 his family," said Cameron, the sister of Koenig's "Growing Pains" co-star Kirk Cameron.
Cheryl Cole is reportedly considering changing her name back to Cheryl Tweedy for a re-release of her debut album.
![]()
Now that Cheryl Cole has separated from Ashley Cole, it's reported that the star wants people to know her by her maiden name, and she wants to start with the re-release of her debut album.
A source at her record label said: "Cheryl told record label bosses just before she jetted out to LA that she's thinking about the name change.
"If the album is re-released later this year that would be ideal time to do it."
If this happens, then it is a sure sign that Cheryl DOES plan to divorce Ashley.
Some people think that Cheryl may take Ashley back in the future - with the announcement of a separation rather than a divorce a sign of that.
We'll see. We would find it weird calling her Cheryl Tweedy again though...
