Run, Katie, run!
Katie Holmes pounded the pavement incognito for most of the grueling 26 miles of the marathon - until hubby Tom Cruise planted a kiss on her.
The actress was running up First Ave. about 15 miles into the endurance test when the Cruise leapt out of the crowd to give her a smooch.
Cruise, 45, was holding their baby, Suri, when he kissed her, and the proud hubby raced over to greet her with another embrace when she crossed the finish line in Central Park.
"I'm good, but I'm feeling very tired," Holmes, 28, later told People magazine.
Holmes, who learned to run as a child in Toledo, Ohio, has been training voraciously in recent months.
"I have always loved to run," she told Harper's Bazaar magazine recently. "It has helped me lose the extra baby weight."
The power couple woke at dawn Sunday in their digs at the Carlyle Hotel near Central Park, and Holmes headed to Staten Island to join the 40,000 other runners, OK! magazine reported.
Despite being one of the most-photographed women on the planet, she managed to stay unnoticed until Cruise surprised her near E. 96th St.
Holmes finished the race just two seconds under 5 1/2 hours.
Cruise planned to throw a celebratory bash for Holmes, complete with relatives flown in from Ohio, at Tavern on the Green last night, OK! reported. source
