Charisma Carpenter join 'Expendables'
Charisma Carpenter, best known for her role on TV’s “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and the spin-off series “Angel”, has joined the ever-expending cast of Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables, reports TVGuide.com.
Carpenter will reportedly play the girlfriend of Jason Statham’s character. Statham, alongside Stallone and Jet Li, plays one of a group of mercenaries sent to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator. The cast also includes Randy Couture, Forest Whitaker, Danny Trejo, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Arnold Schwarzenegger (in a cameo as himself), and Eric Roberts.
The Expendables is scheduled to begin principal photography in March of 2009, with a release date set tentatively for 2010. Rumor has it that Stallone is tweaking the script in order to “nail the right tonal balance of humor, action and emotional reality.” via
