Redmond O'Neal was stopped for a routine check in a prison car park at Santa Clarita, California, where he was visiting a friend, and allegedly told the policeman he was carrying drugs.
He was searched and arrested for possession and bringing narcotics into a jail. Today he was still in police custody, with bail of $25,000.
Redmond has a history of trouble with the law over drugs. Last year he and his father were charged with possession. He was on probation at the time.
